Information as a Service (IaaS)

Infrastructure as a Service is a cloud computing model. In contrast to traditional infrastructure management, IaaS uses the internet to provide computing resources. The provider makes servers, storage and network components available and manages them. This means that users do not have to take responsibility for managing the physical hardware.
Advantages of IaaS
  • Cost efficiency: As companies no longer have to buy and maintain physical hardware, IaaS reduces costs. The pay-as-you-go model makes resource allocation more effective.
  • Flexibility and scalability: IaaS provides flexible resources that allow companies to change their processing capacity as needed. This adaptability helps to meet the changing and growing needs of the business.
  • Reduced IT overhead: By utilising IaaS, customers can relieve internal IT teams of tasks such as infrastructure management and hardware maintenance by contracting with the service provider.
