Definition of quality assurance

In the course of a quality management process, the term quality assurance encompasses all technical and organizational measures that serve to maintain and create product and process quality before, during and after production or manufacturing.

The terms quality control and quality assurance are often used interchangeably. In fact, quality assurance and quality control are two different aspects of quality management. Quality control describes the part that focuses on the fulfillment of quality objectives. Quality assurance, on the other hand, refers to the part of how a process or how a product is manufactured.
