What is data strategy (Industry 4.0) all about?

The data strategy describes the various levels of data management in special data systems. The hierarchy of the data is clearly defined and descends top-down from the company level to the field level. The individual levels are as follows:

• Company level (ERP)

• Operational level (MES/PPS)

• Process level (SCADA)

• Control level (PLC)

• Field level (input and output signals, usually sensor data or human-generated data)
