What does quality cost accounting mean?

As part of operational cost accounting, quality cost accounting records all costs related to quality management.

  • Conformity costs: costs for preventive quality assurance when quality specifications are met (e.g. problem detection, training costs)
  • Nonconformity costs: costs incurred due to quality deviations (e.g. rework, warranty costs, guarantee costs).
