What does House of Quality mean?

House of Quality is the name for the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) work matrix. With the help of the House of Quality, customer requirements are analyzed and weighted in order to develop a complete specification. QFD (quality function deployment) was developed as part of the Toyota production system in Japan.
