What does OHSAS 18001 mean?

OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) is a standard that is currently only applicable in Great Britain and Poland. Nevertheless, it is used in many countries as a certification basis for occupational health and safety management systems. The structure of OHSAS 18001 is closely based on the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
